Regional Youth Leadership 2013-2014 Diversity Session

Understanding and appreciating people’s differences is a critical
aspect of maturity. This session helps students recognize the diversity in
society, education and the professional world. The lesson in leadership
development encourages students to examine opinions, especially ones that relate
to their age group.

Grab some breakfast and listen to the new Thomas More president
speak about his vision for Thomas More. Armstrong is in his first year at the
Catholic liberal arts institution and is looking to take the college and its
1,900 students into a new era of higher learning.

Whether you’re trying to receive a raise, make a sale or looking
for a new operating budget, negotiating skills are critical to many professions.
Attendees will take part in exercises from the Harvard Negotiation Project and
learn the value of revealing, concealing and persistence when facing a tough
negotiator.

Each year the Chamber recognizes the 30 fastest growing companies
in the region. If your company has seen an increase of 15 percent in revenue
over a three-year span, you may be eligible for an award. The top 30 companies
will be recognized during the Oct. 24 reception.

Students will learn about the emerging health care opportunities
in the Tristate, as well as the political, ethical and economic issues facing
modern medicine. They will examine new trends in technology while learning from
some of the best professionals in their respective fields.
