Want a unique Easter activity? Try one of these local events for something new

With Easter this weekend, you and your family might be looking for ways to celebrate the holiday. While the Miami Valley is filled with many Easter egg hunts, there are also plenty of unique events to keep both you and the kids entertained and occupied. If you’re looking for something different, try one of these four local events instead. 

Easter Scavenger Hunt at the Market
April 16, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
2nd Street Market, 600 E. Second St., Dayton
Free

Children 12 and under can explore the market while working to earn a prize. Participants will pick up a scavenger hunt sheet from the Market Welcome Wagon and then walk through the market to find the hidden objects. Those who complete the sheet are eligible for a prize. 

EmBARK Dayton Easter Celebration
April 16, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Free

Celebrate with your pup at this free event. The day features an Easter photo backdrop for pictures, a dog-friendly Easter egg hunt and a pop-up store from Gem City Pup.

Easter Sunrise Service
April 17, 6:30 a.m.
Carillon Historical Park, 1000 Carillon Blvd., Dayton
Free

Held annually since 1942, this event brings crowds for people to Carillon Historical Park. Enjoy watching the sunrise while listening to music performed on the Deeds Carillon. 

Easter Bunny Express
April 17, 12:15 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m.
LM&M Railway, 16 E. South St., Lebanon

Families can meet the Easter bunny, be entertained by balloon artists and more, all while enjoying a train ride. After, kids can also participate in an egg hunt at the Lebanon Sports Complex.
