Halloween events in the Dayton area offer fun for everyone, with masquerade balls, murder-mystery dinners and drag shows

With Halloween quickly approaching, many are looking to make plans in the days leading up to the holiday. Luckily, there are a number of fun and festive events happening in the Dayton area in the days leading up to Halloween.  

PhilharMonster — Oct. 17 

The Dayton Philharmonic welcomes families back to the Schuster Center for this seasonal performance, availble in-person or live streaming. Maestro Neal Gittleman arranged spooky-sounding tunes, which are not only fun for young people but also introduce them to classical music. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed in costume. Even some of the orchestra members will be showing off their costume creativity, including Gittleman!

Halloween Hysteria — Oct. 21 and 28 

The Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant in Dayton will host its Halloween Hysteria Mystery Dinner Theater over two dates before Halloween. Here, guests can take part in a Halloween-themed murder mystery while enjoying a meal provided by the restaurant.

Halloween Spoooktacular Drag Brunch — Oct. 24 

After debuting their drag brunch back in August, Brock Family Brewing in Centerville will be hosting a second drag brunch, this time with a Halloween theme. Admission to the event includes brunch catered from The Drunken Waffle, drinks and a show from Scarlett Moon. The event is 18+ only.

Wag-O-Ween —Oct. 30  

Pet lovers can check out the Wag-O-Ween event at the Kettering Recreation Complex. This free event includes a “walk and wag treat path,” craft booths and a dog costume contest. Pet adoptions will also be taking place at the event.

Ghost & Ghouls Mask-erade Ball— Oct. 31 

The Ghost and Ghouls Mask-erade Ball invites guests to put on their best costume and come enjoy interactive games, costume contests, spooky snacks and the band Velvet Crush at the Windamere Event Center in Middletown. Tickets include entrance to the ball along with a free cocktail. Costumes are required.
