Celebrate Easter with one of these 13 local egg hunts

With Easter coming up this weekend, many kids are expecting an egg hunt. But if planning your own sounds like a lot of work, a community egg hunt is also an option. We found 13 egg hunts and Easter celebrations happening this weekend that will help you and your family celebrate the holiday without all the work. 

Breakfast with the Bunny 
April 8, 9-11 a.m. 
Scene75 Entertainment Center, 6196 Poe Ave., Dayton 
Adults $12, children $7 
Get some one-on-one time with the Easter Bunny before the big day at Scene75. The event includes a hot breakfast with an appearance from the bunny.  

City Hope Lebanon Egg Drop 
April 8, 11 a.m. 
Lebanon Jr. High Stadium, 160 Miller Road, Lebanon 
Free, reservations required 
Gates open at 11 a.m. and the egg drop (from a helicopter!) happens at 11:30 a.m. 

Community Egg Hunt at Medway Church 
April 8, 10:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. 
Medway Church, 2550 South Dayton-Lakeview Road, New Carlisle 
Free
 
This egg hunt, which is free for children 0 to 10, will feature 30,000-plus eggs, free pictures with the Easter Bunny and live entertainment.  

Egg Hunt at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force 
April 8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. 
National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, 1100 Spaatz Dr., Wright-Patterson Air Force Base 
Free 

The museum is hosting a free, indoor hunt. Visitors are asked to bring their own baskets so they can hunt for candy in the museum’s exhibits. There will also be face painters, balloon artists and live music. 

Fairborn Community Easter Egg Hunt
April 9, 2 p.m. 
Central Park, 222 S. Central Ave., Fairborn 
Free 

Special prizes will be awarded to each age group after the egg hunt. Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be offered as well. 

Jon Pemberton’s and Associates Helicopter Egg Drop 
April 8, 9-11:30 a.m. 
Miami Valley South stadium, 3757 Upper Bellbrook Road, Bellbrook 
Free, but registration required 

This special egg hunt has the Easter eggs dropped by helicopter.  

Mega Egg Hunt 
April 8, 1 p.m.

Hosted by Grace Baptist Church and Adventure Kids Club, this egg hunt (designed for children through sixth grade) will feature lots of games and activities. 

Operation Eggs-Treme
April 8, 3-6 p.m.

In addition to a helicopter egg drop, there will be food trucks, inflatables, balloon animals, face painting and more. 

Paws in the Park Egg Hunt 
April 8, 6-7 p.m.

$5 residents, $6 non-residents
 
This dog-friendly egg hunt will feature eggs filled with special dog treats. 

Riverside Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt 
April 8, 9:45 a.m.

The 43rd annual Riverside Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt promises to be a good time for all. Participants should bring their own baskets.  

Vandalia Easter Eggstravaganza

This event features two different egg hunts (one at 11 a.m. and one at 1 p.m.), a scavenger hunt, food trucks, vendors, face painting, games and more.  

West Carrollton Easter Egg

This annual Easter egg hunt is perfect for children 1-12. In addition to the egg hunt, there will be hot dogs, chips, crafts and fun activities. 

Young’s Jersey Dairy Easter Egg Hunt

Young’s Jersey Dairy will boil and dye more than 10,000 eggs for its 40th annual Easter egg hunt. There are three different start times depending on your child’s age group.
