The most romantic day of the year is here, and the Gem City is full of events to celebrate your love. Check out this variety of last-minute ideas to add an extra layer of love to the celebration.
Valentine’s Under the Stars at the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery: This annual event is back, and you can share the stars with your love. The event is held in the Caryl D. Phillips Space Theater and features a live show with visuals set to music. Tickets include a charcuterie spread by Eco Eatery Chef, sweet treats, a champagne toast, a keepsake photo of the night sky on Valentine’s night and a long-stem rose. There is an optional cash bar with complimentary water and lemonade. There are tickets still available for the 8 p.m. showing, and they can be purchased here.
Sweetheart Skate Special at RiverScape MetroPark: Open to all ages, RiverScape MetroPark is hosting its Sweetheart Skate Special from Feb. 16-18. The $20 price tag includes two rink admissions with skate rental, two cups of hot chocolate and a box of Winan’s Chocolates. You can find more details here.
Splatter Date™ at Pinspiration: Go on your most creative date yet at Pinspiration with their Splatter Date™ on Feb. 14. The $109 deal includes two 9-by-12-inch canvas panels or one 16-by-20-inch shared canvas, protective gear, 25 minutes in the Jackson Pollock-inspired splatter room, two glasses of Prosecco or non-alcoholic beverages, chocolates for two and an optional “Glow Upgrade” (glow-in-the-dark painting experience). You can bring in the littles to add to your special day for an additional $25 per person (recommended for ages 4 and up).
Dewberry Beer Dinner at Dewberry 1850: The newly opened Dewberry 1850 in the Marriott at the University of Dayton is teaming up with Warped Wing to offer a beer dinner on Feb. 15. The four-course meal is paired with different beers to compliment the dishes, which include Caribbean Grilled Mahi Mahi, Blackberry & Bourbon Barbecue Pork Lollipop, Hard Apple Cider Braised Beef Short Ribs and House-made Sour Cream Pound Cake. Galentine’s Day Trivia Night at Alleyway Cafe: Grab your best gal pals for a night of trivia at Alleyway Cafe on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m. The theme for the evening is all things love (think rom-coms, love songs, etc.) through five rounds of trivia. Girls and guys are all invited to stop by for a night of fun. The winning team of each round will receive a small prize and a grand prize is reserved for the overall winning team.
