Explore the flavor profiles of these hand-selected wines at this Dayton area bar
Join Joui and their wine experts in an elevated wine night experience in Downtown Dayton. Named after a shortened version of the French word Jouissance, meaning to enjoy, Joui aims to bring guests an experience that sparks both intellectual and physical delight. Owner and operated by Lauren Gay, a certified sommelier and wine director, the spot opened in December 2023. It enters Gay’s repertoire of bars including Tender Mercy, Sueño and Dōzo.
Joui serves several wines by the glass as well as house cocktails, beers and non-alcoholic drinks. The cocktail menu leans creative, with drinks like the Caesar Salad Martini mixing arugula vodka with parmesan vermouth and anchovies. Other offerings include a vanilla and tomato cocktail and bright sangria.
Beyond the drinks, Joui also serves charcuterie platters to snack on. The charcuterie plates feature a selection of cured meats, cheeses, fruit, crackers and even some edible flowers, creating a plate that is both beautiful and entirely edible.
For those looking to enjoy a glass of wine at home, Joui also has a wine club. The Dose is for like-minded wine enthusiasts who need a glass of their favorite drink. The club offers a “single dose,” which comes with two bottles of wine, or a “double dose” that comes with four bottles of wine delivered monthly to members.
