Austeria Wine Boutique in Sidney is ready to open its doors to customers on March 13 with a special grand opening celebration

Calling all wine lovers! Mark your calendars for March 13 when the brand-new Austeria Wine Boutique officially opens its doors in Sidney from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

The grand opening will kick off with an official ribbon cutting at noon. Then, there will be free drinks while supplies last. Throughout the day and into the evening, the shop will be open and serving their drinks and light bites.  

“Austeria Wine Boutique is a wine-forward bar and bottle shop concept located in Sidney,” said Taylor Bowsher, the shop’s owner. “While our focus is on small-production, low-intervention wines from around the globe, we will also feature beer, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages and accouterments.” 

The husband-and-wife team behind the business, Andrew and Taylor Bowsher, are passionate about great wine and wanted to bring a new bar concept to the growing city of Sidney. 

In developing the idea behind their first entrepreneurial journey, the Bowsher wanted to bind the past with the present and create a space where vintage elegance could meet contemporary sensibilities.  

“Whether you’re an oenophile looking to explore the rare and unconventional, or simply seeking a retreat from the mundane, we will embark on a modern-day voyage through the wine glass,” she added. “The atmosphere is lively, the ambiance is moody and the menu is hand-crafted. Austeria is more than a place; it’s a state of mind.” 

Taylor shares that the name, Austeria, is derived from the Italian word “Osteria,” which is defined as a small family-run establishment featuring wine and simple food. The twist in the name, swapping “O” for “A,” comes from their son’s name, Austin. “We believe in redefining the classic notion of a wine bar and retail bottle shop while creating the concept of a beverage boutique centered around wine both near and far,” she added.  

Austeria Wine Boutique is located at 109 S. Ohio Ave. in Sidney. In addition to the storefront, there is also an online shop where customers can check out the selection of wines.
