Walk with Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation

Join Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation (CBTF) for its 4th annual walk for the cure on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Proceeds from the walk will contribute to the foundation’s local programs such as family support services, scholarships and other programs to help the survivors and their families. The two-mile walk begins at Day Air Ballpark in downtown Dayton at 9 a.m. 

The theme for this year’s Walk for the Cure event is Superheroes and Superpowers. This event will have entertainment in the form of character appearances provided by A Moment of Magic OSU and Central Ohio Ghost Busters, as well as raffles, face painting, a scavenger hunt and a Halloween costume contest. 

In addition to the walk, CBTF will recognize Dr. Krishnamallika Mutyala, pediatric endocrinologist at Dayton Children’s Hospital, for her commitment to patients and families. 

The Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation has been serving its community since 1988. Founded by parents, physicians and friends, the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation has been dedicated to improving the lives and long-term outlook of children with brain and spinal cord tumors through research, advocacy, support and education.  

“There are over 4,600 children diagnosed with a brain tumor each year, and we feel the impact right here in Dayton,” says Stacia Wagner, CBTF president. “This walk raises awareness and supports family programs while sending teen and young adult survivors to our regional camps. Dayton Children’s Hospital is building a stellar neuro-oncology program, and we aim to support the entire family throughout this journey. Our goal is to ensure no family faces this challenge alone while we continue working toward a cure.”
