Home to the airplane, the automobile self-starter, the first internationally-acclaimed African American poet and many more influential events and inventions, Dayton is a city with a history worth celebrating. Of course, Carillon Historical Park allows Daytonians to connect with the history of the Gem City through many themed events throughout the year. Join this historical park this fall for an authentic Tavern Dinner. 

Carillon Historical Park hosts Harvest Feast Tavern Dinners on Fridays and Saturdays this October. These dinners serve an authentic three-course candlelit dinner at the property’s Newcom Tavern, Dayton’s oldest building. Newcom Tavern has served as the city’s first jail, church, general store and now as a place to celebrate Dayton history. 

This authentic cuisine will be hearth-cooked recipes pulled straight from the 19th-century recipe books. This dinner will also provide historical entertainment in the form of costume interpreters and educational commentary on the lives of Daytonians in the 1800s.  

Carillon Historical Park is located at 1000 Carillon Blvd, Dayton, OH 45409. Hours of operation are Mon.- Sat., 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sun., 12 p.m.-5 p.m. For more information, visit the park’s website.
