The end of the year is the perfect time to say thanks.

Looking Back and Looking Ahead

Another year over. And a new one just begun.
~ from “Happy Christmas (War is Over)”

I can’t believe that it has been 15 years since we all wondered whether the world as we knew it would come to an end with the transition from 1999 to 2000. Not only did we survive, but also the Miami Valley has begun to thrive again!

As we celebrate the beginning of our third year in publication, it seems like an appropriate time to say thank you. To all of our subscribers, advertisers, sponsors, staff, writers and supporters: We so appreciate all that you do to make this magazine not only a success, but a true reflection of the spirit of this great city. Thanks, Dayton!

You will find this issue packed full of all that you have come to expect from Dayton Magazine. Our annual list of Dayton doctors will help you find the right partner to stay healthy in 2015 and beyond. You also will find in-depth profiles of two of Dayton’s current business leaders: Doug Barry and UD’s Brother Forlani.

We welcome a new columnist with this issue—Brian Sharp. Brian takes a look at the history of holiday shopping in Dayton, which pairs nicely with our guide to holiday shopping on the Style page.

Finally, we want to say thank you to everyone who voted, sponsored, attended and participated in our first-ever Best of Dayton event. It truly was the BEST! We can’t wait to share the results with you in an upcoming issue. In the meantime, enjoy this holiday season and Happy New Year!
