The free summer event will feature live music, food trucks, family activities and illuminated hot air balloons
The Hot Air Balloon Glow is back in West Carrollton, bringing a vibrant summer evening of live music, food trucks, family-friendly activities and illuminated hot air balloons.
The free event is scheduled for Saturday, July 11, at 1 S. Elm St. in West Carrollton, just across from Fire Station 56.
Things kick off at 5:30 p.m. when the food trucks open, followed by Summer Highway performing at 6 p.m. Legend2Legend – Elton John & Billy Joel Tribute Band will take the stage at 8 p.m. As the sun goes down, the hot air balloons will begin to glow.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, arrive early and make a full evening of it. There will also be a Kids Zone hosted by West Carrollton Nazarene, featuring fun activities for children.
Yvonne Concepcion, communications manager for the city of West Carrollton, describes the Hot Air Balloon Glow as one of the city’s “most anticipated summer events” and says it offers “an experience unlike any other in the region.”
Each year, the event attracts thousands of spectators for an evening of “live music, local food vendors, family activities and the breathtaking glow of colorful hot air balloons at dusk,” Concepcion says.
Beyond the excitement of the balloons, the event has become a summer tradition for many families in West Carrollton and across the Miami Valley.
“It brings together residents, welcomes visitors from across the Miami Valley and showcases the strong sense of community that defines our city,” Concepcion says.
Guests will have plenty of food and drink options to choose from, including Kona Ice, El Meson, Tasty Sips, The Wild Banana, Claybourne Grille, Fresh Off the Hook, Freda’s Food Truck, Beach Brothers BBQ, Billie Gold Bubble Tea and Cumberland Kettlecorn.
“We love seeing neighbors reconnect, children make memories and first-time visitors discover our community,” Concepcion says. “Those shared experiences are what make events like this so meaningful and why the Hot Air Balloon Glow has become one of our signature summer traditions.”
Parking is available throughout the area. A parking map is posted on the city of West Carrollton’s website and social media channels.
The city noted that this is a balloon glow, meaning the balloons will be on display and illuminate the event space rather than take flight. Balloon operations are weather-dependent, so guests are encouraged to keep an eye on the city’s social media for updates.
