Goodbye Winter and Hello Spring!

Natasha Baker

“No winter lasts forever. No spring skips its turn.”—Hal Borland

Here in Ohio we have the advantage of seeing all four seasons come to pass every year. And while we may enjoy some more than others the knowledge that winter will give way to spring is what gets a lot of people through those cold days.

All around Dayton we are gearing up for the warmer weather and sunny days. The growing season is vital to our area and creates a sort of frenzy of work to prepare for and enjoy. Five Rivers Metroparks will be filled with families and the Troy Aquatic Park with splashes. The patios at Dublin Pub and El Meson will overflow with the smell of amazing cuisine. And if you listen close you just might hear the crack of the bat and cheer of the crowd at a Dayton Dragons game.

As you get out and enjoy this amazing transformation from winter to spring we hope you discover some hidden gems throughout the Miami Valley. With all of the restaurant profiles we feature in this issue we make it easy for you to get out and taste some of the finest food in the region!

Also featured, get a play-by-play from Dayton’s own Hal McCoy on his life as a writer covering baseball and the Cincinnati Reds, plan a shopping day trip to the lovely downtown of Tipp City, get some tips on sprucing up your home’s curb appeal and meet the newest inductees into our Business Hall of Fame. That’s one action-packed issue!

Here’s to new beginnings, longer days and a delightful spring in Dayton!
