Yaimarie Queeman Soto and Josh Kern
They have lived in four different states together but always felt like the University of Dayton is their home. So when Yaimarie Queeman Soto and Josh Kern, who met as resident assistants at the University of Dayton more than seven years ago, decided to get married they knew the event had to take place in the Gem City.
The wedding ceremony was conducted at the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception at the University of Dayton and the couple had their reception at The Galleria at The Event Connections. “The location is managed by Event Connections, a wedding planning business here in Dayton. Since we live in Texas now their knowledge of Dayton vendors came in very handy,” says Queeman Soto. “They also provided a day-off team and included catering and decorations in their packages. The reception was absolutely amazing and magical and I couldn’t have done it without the team at the venue.”
Michele and Keith Smith
The location of Michele Smith’s wedding ceremony was never in doubt. Smith, who grew up going to church at Christ United Methodist Church in Kettering, had no other place in mind for her wedding ceremony.
“I grew up in this church and had always dreamed of getting married there,” she says. The reception venue, however, required a tour before a decision could be made.
But once Smith saw Magnolia Estate in Miamisburg she knew it would be the perfect venue for a reception. “As soon as we walked into the venue for a tour I could picture our wedding there,” she says.
“There was a grand staircase that we got to walk down as we entered the reception and it made me feel like a princess. The venue was outdoor/indoor so there were many locations for guests to celebrate.”
