Bush, a Dayton-native is recognized for mentorship, community engagement and youth outreach 

Donald Bush, a Dayton-native, has been named the recipient of the FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association’s 2026 National Leadership Achievement Award. 

Bush, a graduate of the FBI Cincinnati Citizens Academy, received the honor earlier this month in recognition of his leadership, mentorship, and service within the organization and the broader community. The award is presented annually to an alumni member who demonstrates a strong commitment to the mission and priorities of both the FBI and the FBINCAAA. 

Since completing the Citizens Academy program in 2018, Bush has been active in the Cincinnati chapter, joining the board in 2021 and serving as chapter president through December 2025. During his tenure, the chapter reported membership growth, expanded programming and increased alumni engagement. 

Bush also introduced new fundraising strategies, strengthened partnerships with alumni and community organizations, and spearheaded youth outreach initiatives that broadened the chapter’s impact. His leadership has been recognized not only within the FBI alumni network but also across Dayton, where he has been a consistent presence in civic and community efforts.

The FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization that works in partnership with the FBI to support public safety through community engagement and education.
