Pins Mechanical Co. opens its first Dayton location

Pins Mechanical Co., the retro watering hole based in Columbus, Ohio, has brought a new “barcade” to Dayton.

Pins Mechanical is fun for the whole family, with kid-friendly hours before 9 p.m. and adults-only hours after, until close. Having opened in June 2025, the Dayton location is the newest location of the bar and is a unique location for the business. The Dayton location is the smallest location by square footage but comes with a special view.

“But I think what really is the killer deal … is the views of [Day Air Ballpark],” says Sirena Frost, communications manager for Rise Brands, parent company of Pins Mechanical. “If you were on our patio, you can even see home base. It’s pretty cool.”

Pins Mechanical has no on-site kitchen, so it does not serve food but encourages guests to bring or order their own. “We’ve seen people order pizzas and have it delivered. We’ve seen people bring in food. We’ve seen people have picnics on our patio. We welcome and encourage all of that,” Frost says.

Whether in search of a classic slice or a packed picnic, Pins Mechanical is welcoming whatever meal their guests are craving. However, Pins Mechanical has partnered with fellow Columbus native Mikey’s Late Night Bite. This pizza chain now has locations inside of two Pins Mechanicals as well as nearby locations to other Pins Mechanicals.

“One of our preferred food vendors is Mikey’s Late Night Slice, which is also new to the area. They’re just a few spots down from us, and we have a long-standing relationship with them,” Frost says.

Primarily a bar, Pins Mechanical also has a wide range of drinks, from cocktails to beer and nonalcoholic beer with its low and no list. It has over 30 beers on tap. Pins Mechanical also has shareable options for the whole group to enjoy.

“We do have some really cool shareable options, too. One of those that’s been really great for sports seasons is 100-ounce beer towers. Anything that we offer in drafts, you can get it in the beer tower,” Frost says.

For those who are looking for a cocktail with their barcade experience, Pins Mechanical has seven classic cocktails and six seasonal cocktails. Seasonal cocktails are changed twice a year; the current menu will change again in the spring.

Whether gaming by themselves or with a group, Pins Mechanical has a variety of options. Guests will find that many of the games at this barcade are free to play. Games like Giant Jenga, Hookie as well as arcade games are free. Pinball is $1 per game and duckpin bowling is available for $7 a game.
