The Dayton Area offers an array of New Year events

As 2025 winds down and the community looks ahead to 2026, the Dayton’s area is offering an array of New Year’s Eve celebrations and a First Friday event that will help kick off the new year. 

On Dec. 31, venues across the city will host themed parties, live music and festive gatherings to welcome 2026. The Foundry’s Roaring ’20s New Year’s Eve Party will transport guests back to the Jazz Age with a themed buffet, DJ and dance floor, ending the night with a sparkling wine toast at midnight. Meanwhile, Dayton’s 8th Annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Silent Disco at The Brightside will offer a silent dance party paired with the city’s signature ball drop celebration. 

Those looking for a classic night out can head to the Marriott at the University of Dayton for its “Turn Back Time!” New Year’s Eve party, featuring piano performances, decade-inspired dancing, a midnight champagne toast and more. Downtown nightlife options also include Oregon Express’s “Down the Rabbit Hole” celebration, which will feature multiple DJs, a buffet and a midnight toast. 

The celebrations continue into the new year with Dayton’s First Friday on Friday, Jan. 2, from 5- 9 p.m. The free monthly event invites residents and visitors to explore downtown galleries, shops, restaurants and entertainment venues with extended hours, live music, art exhibits and special promotions.  

With a wide-array of festive New Year’s Eve parties and a culture-focused First Friday to follow, Dayton offers plenty of ways to celebrate the transition into 2026.
