The World A’Fair festival returns this weekend 

A World A’Fair will return to the Greene County Expo Center from May 1–3, bringing a weekend of international culture, food and performance to the Dayton area. 

A staple of Xenia, the long-running festival has evolved into one of southwest Ohio’s most recognizable celebrations of global heritage. After relocating from downtown Dayton in recent years, the event continues to draw visitors with a mix of cultural exhibits, live entertainment and interactive experiences.  

More than 30 countries and cultural organizations are participating, offering visitors a chance to experience traditions from around the world, all in one place. Attendees can sample authentic dishes and beverages, browse international goods and watch performances ranging from West African dance to Celtic folk music.  

The festival runs Friday evening from 5-10 p.m., followed by full-day programming Saturday and Sunday. Across multiple stages, performers such as bands, dance troupes and cultural ensembles will each get a chance to bring their culture to Xenia, ensuring there is always a performance to enjoy 

Beyond performances and food, A World A’Fair emphasizes education and family-friendly activities. The Children’s Passport program invites younger attendees to visit booths, answer questions about different cultures and collect stamps. A beer passport, offered Friday night, gives adults the opportunity to sample international brews in a single evening.
