 Ready for Camp?

Ohio Sports Academy keeps kids entertained all summer long with its unique camp

Summer is around the corner and that means it’s time for parents to start considering summer camps! One option, particularly for active, energetic children, is sending them to camp at Ohio Sports Academy in Springboro.

Voted best gymnastics gym in Dayton six years in a row, Ohio Sports Academy offers full and half-day camps in June, July and August for potty trained kids 3.5 through 12.

“Our summer camps are filled with high energy, structured activities, free play, crafts, trampolines and so much more! Every week there is one special event such as an animal visitor, Kona Ice and a visit from our local police and fire departments,” says Camp Director Zoe.

Ohio Sports Academy’s camps feature trampolines, rope swings, a ninja course, a craft area and even a foam pit! Each day has a different theme, such as Nerf, Dragons and Unicorns, Luau, Glow, Secret Agent, Outer Space and more.

In addition to fun, campers enjoy a low camper-to-counselor ratio of 9 to 1 and up to 1.5 hours of time outside. All camp counselors are 17 or older and current coaches and staff members at the gym. “All adults who work at our facility are background checked and safety certified before they are allowed to be with any children. After that, our counselors go through multiple courses and tests, train with experienced counselors at our other events, and go through summer camp-specific meetings and training to make sure they are equipped with the skills and tools needed to make sure all campers are safe and have fun!” says Zoe.

All campers need to bring a packed lunch, snacks and a water bottle, but Ohio Sports Academy provides the rest!

Other important things to know:
– Masks are not required for children, but campers can wear them if they would like.
– The gym is cleaned before campers arrive. If a camper tests positive for COVID families can reschedule their camp once they provide proof of a positive test. If the academy is closed down due to a state or federal mandate, families can reschedule or receive a refund.
– Discounts are offered after the first week of camp—after that each weeklong camp is discounted 10%.
– Your child does not need to be a member of the gym to enroll. Anyone can come and do camps at OSA! The camp does have a yearly registration fee of less than $30 per child that will be billed upon enrollment to reserve your spot.
