Outdoor music returns to amphitheaters and parks across the Miami Valley
Music has returned to many outdoor concert venues across the region. One of the newest additions to the offerings, Levitt Pavilion, will bring national artists back to its downtown Dayton stage starting this weekend.
New Orleans trumpeter Shamarr Alan kicks off the season on June 12, followed by The Lao Tizer Band (featuring Eric Marienthal) on June 17. All performances begin at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted on the schedule. The diverse mix of national and local performers, representing many different genres is offered to the public free of charge, thanks to support from the Levitt Foundation and the generous contributions from the community. New this year, the Signature Levitt Summer Camp (July 12-16) will give students of any experience level the opportunity to explore the urban creative arts, including spoken word and music in many different and creative ways. - Stubbs Park, Centerville: The 2021 Summer Concert Series just launched its first Sunday evening show this weekend. Richard Lynch Band takes the stage June 13. Shows begin Sundays at 7 p.m.
- Riverfront Park, Miamisburg: Start your week off with a little music in the park. The Star City Concert Series continues the tunes all summer long. Performances start at 6 p.m., including Comeback Special playing on June 13.
- Prouty Plaza, Troy: Friday nights will rock when live music hits Prouty Plaza. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the free concerts starting at 7:30 p.m. The first Fridays on Prouty Series show takes place July 9.
- Courthouse Square, Dayton: Looking for a different kind of lunch break? The Square Is Where offers free programming from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday in the summer months. Fridays Live features performers from many different genres.
