The signature fundraising event is set for April 29
The Contemporary Dayton’s 28th Annual Art Auction, the organization’s signature fundraiser, returns with in-person activities on April 29 at the gallery’s new home. The event will feature, for the first time, a silent auction in the Dayton Arcade’s Rotunda and a live auction in The Co’s adjacent new galleries.
“We are excited to bring back our in-person silent art auction after presenting it virtually the past two years. We invite you to sip, snack, browse, and bid often with friends and artists under the Arcade’s spectacular Rotunda at our new home,” says Eva Buttacavoli, executive director of The Co.
Participating artists include some of the region’s most notable including Willis “Bing” Davis, Amy Deal, Heather Jones, Katherine Kadish, Amy Powell, Terry Welker, and many more. The live auction will feature eight artists who created new work especially for this year’s event.
More than 24 local vendors and 40 event volunteers help make the annual art auction possible. The event includes complimentary food, signature cocktails, and live music by Dayton-favorite Puzzle of Light, featuring artist-musician Michael Bashaw.
Guests are encouraged to register to bid before the event to save time. View artwork, bid on favorite pieces, and receive text reminders about placed bids throughout the evening. On-site support will be available.
“As our largest fundraiser of the year, The Co utilizes funds raised from the Annual Art Auction to support our future programs and events that advance art for the community and a community for artists whose work emanates from Dayton and Ohio and whose practices speak to prominent issues of our time on both the national and international level,” Buttacavoli says.
