A local advertising agency has donated its former North Main office building to Dayton nonprofit Omega CDC

Thanks to a donation from a local advertising agency, Omega Community Development Corporation has a new building on North Main Street. 

Following its relocation to a new office downtown, the Dayton-based marketing and advertising agency Ohlmann Group has donated its former office building to Omega CDC. The extra office space will aid the nonprofit as it hires new staff and moves forward with a major project in northwest Dayton, where the 10,000 square-foot building is located. 

Earlier this year, Omega CDC received the Promise Neighborhood Grant—a federal award that totals close to $29 million over 5-6 years—in order to implement its “Hope Zone.” In addition to the grant, the initiative will be supported by $90 million matched investment from the local community. 

“We faced an immediate challenge of finding sufficient office space in our current facilities for the staff we are required to hire for this important work,” says Vanessa Ward, president of Omega CDC, in a news release. “The Ohlmann family’s donation is an answer to prayer.” 

The Hope Zone Promise Neighborhood initiative aims to help families and children in northwest Dayton through a “cradle-to-career continuum of services” delivered by 33 organizations. The initiative focuses on four major areas: education, health and wellness, economic stability and community engagement. Since receiving the award, Omega CDC has formed work groups for each of these areas.  

Omega CDC and Ohlmann Group have been partners since the 1990s. Ohlmann Group CEO Linda Kahn says the agency is excited to donate its former building to a nonprofit partner. 

“We care deeply about the northwest Dayton neighborhood, which Ohlmann Group has called 

home for 56 years,” Khan says. “We know that Omega CDC will use this space to its fullest potential and continue transforming the neighborhood for decades to come.”
