Kick off the Lenten season with fried fish from local churches and parishes
The start of the Lenten season means weekly fish fries, a delectable Friday tradition that both those celebrating Lent and those not celebrating can enjoy. These local Dayton fish fries kick off on Friday and continue throughout the Lenten season. Check out which one(s) you might want to visit.
The first of many weekly, Lenten fish fries at The Golf Club at Yankee Trace includes all you can eat Atlantic cod filets, fairway fries, hush puppies, Chesapeake biscuits, coleslaw and a soft drink—all for $20. You can dine in or carry out for $17.

In Piqua, locals can visit St. Mary Church for a carryout or dine-in all you can eat fish fry. You have the option of fried or baked fish, macaroni and cheese or fries, coleslaw or applesauce and a dinner roll.

Sacred Heart in New Carlisle will be hosting the first of its many weekly fish fries on Friday, offering fried and baked cod, grilled cheese, baked potatoes, French fries, green beans, salad, coleslaw, dessert and a beverage.

You can join other fish friers in Lebanon this Friday for a fundraiser that benefits youth athletics at St. Francis de Sales School. A variety of food will be available: fried fish, fried fish sandwich, grilled shrimp or cheese Bosco sticks; French fries, green beans, buttered noodles or corn; tossed salad, coleslaw or applesauce; a dinner roll and choice of desserts. Drinks and beer will also be available.
