The Troy Strawberry Festival features food, entertainment, 5Ks and more

The 49th annual Troy Strawberry Festival returns to Troy, Ohio, this weekend, June 7 and 8. Offering a weekend filled with strawberry-flavored treats, the festival will also include live entertainment. Held along the Great Miami River Levee and throughout historic downtown Troy, this free, family-friendly event is an annual tradition that draws residents and visitors out to partake in fruit-based fun.  

This year’s theme, “Lets Get Berried in Books,” reflects the festival’s general chairwoman, Jessica Silvers’ passion for reading and literacy. Beyond that, the festival will also boast more than 200 arts and crafts vendors and more than 70 food booths, many offering unique strawberry-infused dishes. At the festival, visitors can find dishes like strawberry salsa, barbecue sauce and the festival’s signature strawberry donuts.  

The festivities kick off Saturday morning with the Strawberry Classic 5K and 10K races and the Strawberry Shortcake 1K fun run. Participants are rewarded with custom medals and strawberry donuts. Also on Saturday is the Little Miss and Mister Strawberry Pageant.  

On Sunday, the Cruise-In will see residents and visitors alike driving in their best cars.  

Other highlights of the weekend include live music on two stages and an Adopt a Strawberry fundraiser, which allows donors to get a strawberry painted on their driveway for a $25 donation.  

Admission to the festival is free, with complimentary parking and shuttle services available from locations such as the WACO Air Museum and Miami County Fairgrounds.
