Stay cool and entertained at these indoor events
Ohio offers plenty of activities throughout its four seasons. While late summer and back to school can mean continued outdoor happenings, the heat can be punishing. Avoid the sunburn while still getting out of the house and check out these indoor events and exhibitions.
2nd Street Market
The 2nd Street Market, in downtown Dayton, is known for its over 40 vendors and wide selection of produce, breads and other food options. However, on the third Thursday of every month, the market offers guests a special opportunity to enjoy extended shopping hours, demos, tasting and entertainment. These special hours also offer guests an opportunity to engage with their community. Guests are welcome to bring DORA beverages to these Thursdays night events.
Sunset at the Market is held through October on the third Thursday of each month from 5-8 p.m. at the 2nd Street Market, 600 E. Second St., Dayton.

This display of human resilience will be available to view until Aug. 3, 2025.

Oakwood Community Center
While others say leave the kids with a babysitter, Oakwood Community Center says to bring them along. Oakwood Community Center is giving caregivers the perfect opportunity to get in a workout without leaving the kids out. Here, attendees can roll out a mat for little ones and break a sweat together. All ages, genders and skill levels are welcome at this Mommy and Me Yoga event, allowing a chance for socialization and play.
Mommy and Me Yoga takes place on Wednesdays from 10-11 a.m. at the Oakwood Community Center, 105 Patterson Road, Oakwood, through Sept. 3. One needs to register for a session (which consists of four classes) before attending.
