See over 180 rings on display at Dayton Art Institute 

Romance is in the brisk winter air at the Dayton Art Institute’s “Engaged: Rings from around the World.” This exhibition has a collection of over 180 rings from various regions and cultures from around the globe. This exhibit will be available to see at the Dayton Art Institute Gallery 118 until April 19, 2026.  

Engaged: Rings from around the World shows a trend of fascination with decorating our digits that spans thousands of years. Oftentimes made of precious metals and decorated with ornate gems. Dayton Art Institute invites guests to study the intricacies and craftsmanship that went into the making of these pieces.  

Examine the beauty of these rings and their purposes, what they symbolize and which of these trends have made it into our modern-day trends and traditions. Some rings symbolize a person’s status, some symbolize protection and some symbolize love, a tradition that lives on even now.
