A Carillon Christmas mixes history with holiday cheer

Starting tonight, you can get a dose of holiday cheer while learning about Dayton’s history. Through Dec. 30, Carillon Historical Park at 1000 Carillon Blvd. in Dayton has been transformed for A Carillon Christmas.  

The 65-acre campus—which is home to several historic buildings and museum buildings throughout the year—adds several additional attractions for the holidays. Those include visits with Santa Claus, the Carillon Card Company, Christmas concerts, a Christmas village, model train displays, thousands of lights and the Deeds Carillon, which has been lit to look like a Christmas tree.  

Those who head to the park for the opening night are in for a special treat—a live concert played on the lit Deeds Carillon. The show starts at 6 p.m. 

Visitors can enjoy A Carillon Christmas Sunday through Thursday 5-9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday 5-10 p.m. The event is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Tickets are $14 per adult (15-59), $12 per senior (60+), $10 per child (3-17), free to children 2 and under and free to Dayton History members.
