The Dayton area is home to several tree farms
While people put their final touches on Thursday’s Thanksgiving meal, others are looking toward the next holiday. With Friday marking the unofficial start of the Christmas season, here are a number of Christmas tree farms in the Dayton Area.
Bringing the community fresh-cut Christmas trees since 2006 is Advent Christmas Tree Farm located in Englewood. With over 47 acres of land, the farm has planted and nurtured over 15,000 trees for the community to pick from. What’s more, Advent allows those interested to preorder their tree, reducing the hassle in bringing the holidays home. In addition to the many options available and the ease of ordering, Advent boasts its sustainable practices, such regenerative farming and pesticide-free trees.

Out in Xenia, customers can shop for spruces, firs and pines at Country Charm Tree Farm. Offering a selection of both field trees and precut, Country Charm offers guests a multitude of options from Norway spruces to balsams. Additionally, with prices ranging from $50-$250, guests of all budgets are sure to find their tree. For those looking for more fresh greenery, the farm creates wreaths and swags that shoppers can take home.

Carl and Dorothy Young’s Cut Your Own Christmas Trees
Founded by the same family responsible for Yellow Spring’s Young’s Dairy Farm, Carl and Dorothy Young’s Cut Your Own Christmas Trees has been operating since 1985. The farm has over 26,000 trees, including white pines, Canaan firs and Norway spruces. In addition to the trees, Carl and Dorothy Young’s features an expansive gift shop, allowing guests to shop for ornaments for their new tree, in addition to other decorations for their home.

Celebrating its 35th year of operation, Big Tree Plantation welcomes shoppers back to search among its collection of Black Hills spruce, blue spruce and more. Uniquely, the farm also allows guests to purchase young trees, which they can plant at home and grow their own Christmas tree. In addition to the trees, guests can shop at the gift barn for decorations and at the Nut House, to pick up some snacks.
