Get rid of any lingering cabin fever with these festivals

As the snow melts, Ohioans are finally able to enjoy the great outdoors. Luckily, there are several festivals in the Dayton area that are perfect opportunities to soak up some sun and enjoy the community this spring.

Spring Fest in the Burg

The city of Miamisburg is celebrating Spring Fest in the Burg for the sixth year. During this event, festival goers can enjoy live music, local art, carnival rides and food. The festival spans three days, providing the community with not just entertainment but fundraising efforts that go back into the community.

“We are always working at raising money for our [Miamisburg High School] seniors, our support of the local parks and other arts and community-focused events,” says Devon Douglas, co-chair for Spring Fest in the Burg.

What’s more, festival goers will now have more opportunities to enjoy the festivities of Spring Fest in the Burg in 2026. Festival organizers have added more to this annual event.

“In 2026, we are also expanding beyond the spring and will be using the name ‘Great Things in the Burg’ for other events,” Douglas says. Other new additions include Art in the Burg on April 25, a showcase of local schools’ fine arts program along with local artists.

Spring Fest in the Burg will take place in Riverfront Park, located at 1 Water St., in Miamisburg on May 15-17.

Fleurs de Fête

For those looking for time away from the kids, Fleurs de Fête offers a refined lawn event for adults only. This festival has a rich history of community and tradition stretching back 33 years.

Held by Carillon Historical Park, this is a festival for wine and beer lovers. Enjoy a selection of hundreds of wines or take a walk through the beer garden. Fleurs de Fête will also offer an assortment of gourmet dishes served by local restaurants and caterers like Silas Creative Kitchen, Kohler Catering, Manna and Ellie’s.

Fleurs de Fête will take place at Carillon Park, located at 1000 Carillon Blvd., Dayton, on May 17. Fleurs de Fête attendees must be 21 years old or older.

Maple Sugar Festival

On a warm spring morning, what hits the spot better than a syrupy pancake breakfast or sugary maple donut? Enjoy an abundance of sweets and more at Bellbrook’s annual Sugar Maple Festival.

“It’s nice to have festivals and activities geared towards more natural and homestead-type activities, rather than continuously relying on commercially produced products,” says Rob Schommer, city manager of the city of Bellbrook. “That’s been a strong focus of the city of Bellbrook, making sure to support local, shop local, working within our agricultural communities and keeping things local and natural.”

This festival celebrates the natural processing of sugar maple into syrup with food, live music, a parade, children’s activities and more. The Sap Boil allows festival goers to learn about the processes behind making the sweet maple syrup that the festival is named after, while sending them off with a sugary souvenir.

Bellbrook’s Sugar Maple Festival will take place in Downtown Bellbrook on April 24-26.
