A local arts workshop offers adults a chance to unleash their creative side
At Piqua Arts Council’s Oct. 5 arts workshop, paint and cocktails will both be flowing.
The adult-oriented “After Dark” event—part of the Arts Council’s 2023 Art 4 Everyone program—will give grown-ups of all ages and skill levels the chance to try their hand at printmaking, acrylic pouring, watercolor and more.
But Art 4 Everyone’s definition of art goes beyond paint on a canvas—attendees will also have the chance to experiment with card magic and DIY hot sauce.
A $30 ticket includes access to at least six art mediums, guidance from a set of accomplished local artists and a catered dinner in the form of heavy appetizers. A cash bar will also be available.
Founded in 2022, Art 4 Everyone is co-sponsored by Hartzell Industries, Morris Comfort Systems, Ohio Arts Council, Piqua Paper Box Company and Premier Health – UVMC.

The After Dark event follows a kid-focused art workshop held in August, where young artists aged K-12 could participate in a variety of art-learning activities tailored to their age group.
“There is a creative in all of us,” Piqua Arts Council’s executive director, Jordan Knepper, said in a press release. “We look forward to giving guests the opportunity to find theirs through hands-on exploration with a wide variety of mediums.”
