New basketball-themed contest offers prizes for patronage

Downtown Dayton’s collection of independent, small businesses need customer support now, more than ever, and tournament time is a great chance to show them you’re a fan. “Post up” at a downtown establishment while you social distance watch a game. Or “box out” by grabbing your game day food drinks with a to-go order or local delivery. Any way you decide to patronize a local business, you have the chance to score big.

The Downtown Dayton Partnership has put together a game to help you get in the tournament spirit—the Downtown Scorecard —which challenges you to make four “shots” supporting downtown businesses for the chance to win $100 in Downtown Dollars e-gift cards. Downtown Dollars is the new digital gift card program where one e-gift card is able to be redeemed at nearly 70 downtown businesses.

Challenges include
– Free throw: Write a positive review on Yelp, Google or social media for your favorite downtown business.
– Lay-up: Grab a to-go treat (coffee, pastry, cookie, appetizer, candy, etc.).
– Jump Shot: Shop in store or online from a downtown retailer.
– 3-pointer: Order your game-watching meal or drinks from downtown for a to-go party at your home or dine in and order up while you watch the game downtown.
